Pinewood Derby is February 7, 2009

Posted on Nov 25 2008 - 5:44pm

While we'll need to round up volunteers and plans are not set in stone (and, speaking of stone, the Paget Gym is gone, so we're going to be in a new, temporary home: the Woodward Academy Middle School Gym. But, speaking of plans, for those interested, or who want to suggest new and better ways to do things in 2009, we do have the annotated, after-action Pinewood Derby Plan from 2008, which is probably going to be the starting point of the new plan in the new temporary home. If you would like to help, or want to post an idea, you can just post a comment here on the website!

Please review your Unit Leader Roster located on this website in that link, and let cubleadertraining@southfultonscouting.com know if there are any additions, deletions or changes that should be made. If we have current email information for all of your leaders, they will receive the weekly eBlast and get that reminder to look here for useful information to help your units, like the Calendar of Events, our Files with Leader Tools, Event Plans and Training Resources, Links to various Websites, and these Announcements, which can take the place of Emails when the eBlast comes out weekly.

A New Cub Scout Meeting Program Plan called "Fast Tracks"

Posted on Sep 16 2008 - 4:32pm

"Fast Tracks on the Advancement Trail" is a program that replicates what some in the District have done: only 2 den meetings each month, no need to try to follow the (thought to be Officially Required) "Program Helps" themes (so you can "keep it simple" -- though be sure to add stuff to "make it fun"), advancement is done in den meetings (not just "at home", which is evidently the "official" way!).
